# Hardwood doors and fluted wall panels: what designers are asking for

Architects and interior designers are returning to solid timber for entrances and feature walls. The look is warm, tactile and long lasting, and Indonesian hardwoods are well suited to it.

## Fluted and reeded faces

Vertical grooves add rhythm and shadow to doors and panels. They work in natural timber tones and in deep black finishes, which are currently very popular for modern entrances.

## Oversized pivot doors

Large pivot doors need stable timber that will not twist. Kiln dried Merbau and Dark Red Meranti are common choices for door components and frames.
