Your first hardwood order FOB Surabaya: a practical checklist
28 September 2026 · 4 min read
A first order with a new supplier goes smoothly when both sides agree on the details in writing. Use this checklist to prepare your enquiry and avoid surprises at loading.
1. Specification
Confirm species, grade, moisture content (kiln dried or air dried), finished dimensions, profile drawing if any, and the length range. Random lengths are standard; fixed lengths are possible but affect price and lead time.
2. Volume and container
Our minimum order is one 20 foot FCL, roughly 20 to 25 MT depending on species and product. Mixed products in one container are possible, which is useful for a trial order.
3. Packaging and labels
Agree on bundle size, steel strapping, waterproof wrapping and the information on each bundle label. We label every bundle with species, product, size and piece count.
4. Commercial terms
Our standard terms are T/T payment with 30% deposit and 70% before shipment, priced FOB Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, in USD. Quotations are subject to stock availability at the time of confirmation.
5. Documents
You will receive a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and SVLK documentation. Ask early if your market needs anything extra, such as a fumigation or phytosanitary certificate.
